About Wally

 CHANGE REQUIRES BOLD LEADERSHIP

 Wally Zimolong was born, raised, and educated in the Philadelphia area. Wally’s strong work ethic, sense of accountability, belief in opportunity for all, and common sense come from his upbringing. Wally saw his father use these core values to build a successful small business from nothing. As the grandson of a police officer and a World War II veteran, Wally was taught that the core American values of respect for the law and American pride are fundamental.

In 2008 Wally ran as the Republican candidate for Pennsylvania’s 182nd Legislative District.  Wally ran as Goldwater conservative in the most liberal Legislative District in Pennsylvania, where Democrats outnumber Republicans 6 to 1,  and obtained more votes than Senator John McCain and anyother Republican running in the District.  Wally obtained nearly 20% of the vote in African-American Wards compared to Senator McCain’s 4%. 

Wally graduated Bishop Eustace, Villanova University, and Villanova Law School. Wally is the first member of his family to graduate from law school and he is admitted to practice in all courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

As an attorney, Wally practices construction litigation and construction law. His clients include general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, who have helped build many of the City’s landmarks.

Wally is also a small business owner.  In 2008, he founded Trust Abstract, LLC, a full service title insurance agency. 

Wally believes in community. He sits on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association Real Property Section. Wally is also on the Board of Directors of the Blue White Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit organization providing scholarships to Villanova University students.Wally is also a member of the Union League of Philadelphia.

Wally resides in South Philadelphia just off 9^th Street in the heart of the Italian Market with Bubba, his black Labrador retriever.

Facts About Wally

• His dog Bubba is believed to be a Democrat and has chewed several of Wally’s conservative books including a biography of Ronald Reagan.

• Is an awful basketball player.  His friends refuse to play basketball with him for fear of injury.

• Despite years of trying cannot break 100 in golf.

• Drinks either Amstel Light or Makers Mark Manhattans, except in the Fall when he drinks Sam Adams Oktoberfest.

• Is a rabid Notre Dame football fan.
• Is an avid surfer and has traveled around the world to surf.
• His favorite baseball player of all-time is Pete Rose.
• His father invented the game Kanobles and is a thoroughbred horse handicapper. 
• His brother in law is the great great grandson of Union Army General George Meade.
